Myth, Misery, and Miracles
November 17, 2026
6:30 p.m. Gather / 7 p.m. Lecture
The Norwich Inn
$15 per ticket, which includes a glass of wine
Many thoughtful, capable women reach a point when the roles and expectations that once guided them begin to feel like an outdated operating system — no longer serving who they’ve become. In this talk, Suzanne Dudley Schon explores how the quiet beliefs we carry about goodness, responsibility, love, and identity can both shape and confine us. Through personal stories, practical insight, and reflection, she offers a compassionate framework for recognizing these inherited “myths,” understanding the misery they can create, and rediscovering the miracles — the freedom and clarity — that were there all along.
Suzanne Dudley Schon is a coach and writer who helps people untangle the inner beliefs and patterns that keep them from living with joy and freedom. Her work blends psychology, multicultural wisdom traditions, and hard-won personal experience. She is the author of Out of the Box: A Journey In and Out of Emotional Captivity and the top banana (and only banana) of her coaching business, Oasis in the Overwhelm LLC.

Norwich resident and active gardener Jaci Allen and her daughter, Danielle Allen, who spoke at a previous lecture. Danielle is a farmer, co-owner, and farm manager for Root 5 Farm, a certified organic vegetable and CSA farm in Fairlee.
